The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has issued a circular dated 23 September 2026 requiring public companies to submit their Implementation Plan for IFRS S1 & S2 by 15 October 2026.
IFRS S1 & S2 (issued by ISSB in June 2023) are now the global baseline for sustainability and climate-related financial disclosures. This is ahead of mandatory reporting for Public Interest Entities from 1 January 2028 under the FRCN Roadmap, which also requires a readiness assessment before the first sustainability report.
